PITTSBURGH, PA (November 6, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University men’s swimming and diving team competed at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational held at Carnegie Mellon University. This quad meet featured athletes from Emory University, Johns Hopkins University, the host Carnegie Mellon, and Case. Emory and Johns Hopkins finished second and third respectively at the 2005 NCAA Division III Championships while Carnegie Mellon was sixth.
The Spartans finished the meet in fourth place with 514 points, with Emory winning the team title with 1,023 points. In the first day of action, senior Pat Rodjom (Pittsburgh, PA) had a fourth place in the 200 yard breaststroke in a time of 2:11.92. Rodjom later won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 59.59. Case freshman Seth Hazlett (Leechburg, PA) took fifth place in the 100 yard butterfly and sixth place in the 200 yard butterfly, finishing the race in a time of 1:59.49. John Erickson (Massillon, OH) took fifth in the 50 yard freestyle in a time of
22.07.
Next Saturday, Case will be at the Division III Quad at Eastern Michigan University.
