DIVISION III QUAD ...
CLEVELAND, OH (November 13, 2004) - The Case Western Reserve University men's swimming and diving team finished 2-1 at the Division II Quad at Eastern Michigan University this past weekend. The Spartans defeated Calvin 133-89 and Kalamazoo 137-81, but lost 128-103 to Denison .
Individually, senior Kevin Day ( Cuyahoga Falls , OH ) won the 100 yard freestyle (49.12) and finished third in the 200 yard IM (2:04.25) to lead Case. Junior Justin Daggett ( Bradford , PA ) also had a nice weekend, finishing second in the 200 yard freestyle (1:48.77) and the 500 yard freestyle (4:52.14).
Team wise, Day and teammates senior Chris Cook (Columbus, OH), junior Bobby Malinoski (Verona, PA), and sophomore John Erickson (Massillon, OH) won the 200 yard freestyle relay (1:27.20).
The Spartans host national powerhouse Kenyon College this Friday and then travel to Oberlin College on Saturday for two dual meets.
