All-Ohio Championships...
CLEVELAND, OH (February 10, 2007) - Case Western Reserve University men’s indoor track and field team finished 13th out of 19 teams this afternoon at the All-Ohio Championships, held at Otterbein College. The Spartans scored 16 points, while Mount Union College won the All-Ohio Championships with a score of 130.
There were only two Spartans to finish seventh or better in the track events. Sophomore Derrick Moore (Cleveland, OH - pictured) finished sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.54 seconds. Sophomore Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN) placed seventh in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:48.29.
In the field events, Case had three sixth place finishers. Freshman Obinna Nwanna (Maumee, OH) tied with two others in the High Jump, as he leaped 1.78 meters. Junior David Jeffries (Nordania, OH) threw his shot put 13.7 meters. In the Weight Throw, senior Paul Hannen (Seville, OH) recorded a 14.21 meter throw.
Case travels to Baldwin Wallace College in Berea on Friday for the All-City Championships.
