2006 UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS...
CHICAGO, IL (March 4, 2006) - The Case Western Reserve University men's indoor track & field team completed their 2006 season today at the 2006 University Athletic Association Championships hosted by the University of Chicago. The Spartan men, who were in third place after day one (Friday), finished fifth out of seven teams with 61 points. Washington University won the title with 136 points. 
Case junior Aaron Johnston-Peck-pictured (Lakewood, OH) claimed the top spot and set a new UAA record in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:44.18. His time is also an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Finishing right behind Johnston-Peck was teammate senior Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA), who was second in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 14:51.53.
In field events, Spartan junior Alex Drollinger (Lodi, OH) was a runner-up in the weight throw (15.92 meters) and shot put (14.37 meters). Teammates sophomore David Jefferies (Nordonia, OH) and junior Paul Hannen (Seville, OH) finished third (14.00 meters) and fourth (13.90 meters) respectively in the shot put behind Drillonger.
The 2006 NCAA Division III Championships are March 10-11 in Northfield, MN.
