ALL-OHIO CHAMPIONSHIPS...
ADA, OH (February 11, 2006) - Case Western Reserve University junior Aaron Johnston-Peck - pictured (Lakewood, OH) took first place and set a new meet record in the 5,000 meter run to lead Case at the Division III All-Ohio Championships held at Ohio Northern University this afternoon. As a team, the Spartans finished sixth out of 18 teams with 42 points overall. Mount Union College won the meet with 106 points on the day.
Johnston-Peck won the 5,000 meter race with a time of
14:46.20, which is also a NCAA provisional qualifying time. Fellow Spartan Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA) finished right behind Johnston-Peck with his second place time of 14:58.28, which also was faster than the previous meet record.
Another first place finisher for Case was junior Alex Drollinger (Lodi, OH) who took the top spot in the men's weight throw. Drollinger won the event with a throw of
50'-4.75" which was 2.75" more than the second place finisher. Also finishing in the top three for the Spartans was senior Christoffer Molnar (Cincinnati, OH) who took third in the 800 meter run with a time of
1:58.29. Next up for Case is the City Championships which will be held at Baldwin Wallace College on Friday, February 17 at 5:30 p.m.
