BEREA, OH (January 21, 2006) - The Case Western Reserve University men's indoor track & field team opened up the 2006 season at the Baldwin Wallace College Invitational. The Spartans finished the meet with four individual first place finishers.
Case senior Stephen Hrinda - pictured (Fairview, PA) took home the top spot in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:56.32. In the other long distance event of the evening, junior Aaron Johnston-Peck (Lakewood, OH) won the one-mile run with a time of 4:24.41. The Spartans continued their first place run as Christoffer Molnar (Cincinnati, OH) won the 800 meters with a time of 1:57.87.
In the field events, Case junior Alex Drollinger (Lodi, OH) led the way with his first place finish in weight throw with his toss of 48'-4". Drollinger also had a solid finish in the shot put as he took third place with a distance of 43'-10-1/2". Also claiming third place spots individually for the Spartans were Johnston-Peck in the 1,000 meter run (2:39.03) and Desmond Ellis (Wheaton, MD) in the 55 meter dash (6.76).
Case will host the Spartan Relays next Saturday at the Veale Center beginning at 12:00 p.m.
