CASE INVITATIONAL ...
CLEVELAND, OH (February 4, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University men's track and field team was in the friendly confines of the Veale Center for the second straight weekend as they hosted the Case Invitational tonight. The Spartans finished fourth as a team out of 10 teams with a score of 69. Baldwin Wallace College won the invite with 149 points.
Individually, sophomore Trevor Ilse ( Orono , MI ) finished second in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.17, graduate student Aaron Tainter ( Portland , OR ) placed third in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:15.25, and senior Doug Bernauer finished third in the long jump with a mark of 6.25 meters to lead Case.
Team wise, the Spartans recorded second place finishes in the distanced medley with a time of 11:21.97 and the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 1:36.77. Case travels to Oberlin College next Friday for their invitational.
