SPARTAN RELAYS ...
CLEVELAND, OH (January 29, 2005) - Case Western Reserve University's Veale Center hosted the Spartan Relays this afternoon. Winning the meet for the men was Carnegie Mellon with 178 points, while Case finished tied for third out of the six teams with 68 points.
Junior distance runner Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA) took home the top spot in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:11.73, 35 seconds faster than the second place finisher. Other top finishers for the Spartans included senior Doug Bernauer with a second place in the long jump with a leap of 20'2.5", Paul Hannen (Seville, OH) who took third in the weight throw with a toss of 43'2.5", David Kallevig (Brecksville, OH) with a third in the 400 meter run (54.37), and Anthony Falter (Alden, NY) who took home third in the 55 meter dash (6.87).
The Veale Center will be the host to another meet next Friday, February 4 with the Case Invitational getting underway at 6:00 p.m.
