MEN'S BASKETBALL—2007-08

Young was four-of-six from long distance and finished with a game-high 18 points in just 16 minutes work. He is 11-of-19 from behind the arc in his last four contests.

The Spartans used a 24-0 run to take a 30-point lead, 49-19, into the intermission.  A senior center Rob Skuski (Russell, OH) tip-in at 9:29 put Case Western Reserve up 25-16.  From there, the Spartans scored 24 unanswered points ending with a Skuski layup with 44 seconds left in the half.

Oberlin’s (0-5) shooting woes continued in the second half. After shooting just 25 percent in the first 20 minutes, the Yeomen finished the game 19-of-59 [32%] from the field. The Spartans, who empted their bench, outrebounded Oberlin 48-40 on the night and forced 22 turnovers.

Case Western Reserve sophomore forward Anthony Durr (Columbus, OH) had a game-high nine rebounds and freshman guard Kevin Herring (Blacklick, OH) added 10 points and five assists to help the Spartans win their fourth straight. Senior guard Jordan Beard (Oberlin, OH) led the Yeomen with 17 points.

Case Western Reserve (5-1) travels to Baldwin-Wallace College Thursday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
