Case senior guard Carson Oren (South Bend, OH) moved into the third position on the Spartan’s all-time scoring list with his 12 points on the night. Oren has tallied 1,398 points, just 59 shy of all-time leader Ken Jackson (1,456). He also recorded his seventh double-double of the season and 21st of his career with a game high 11 rebounds.

The win was Case’s sixth in their last seven as they improve to 8-2 on the year. Oberlin remains winless at 0-11. The Spartans will travel to Juniata College Thursday night (7:30 p.m.) for their last non-conference game of the season.

Both teams shot well from the field in the first half as Case led 47-41 at the intermission. Oberlin, who was led by freshman forward Mike Loll’s (Davison, MI) 18 points, shot 50 percent (17-34) and the Spartans shot 53.8 percent (21-39). Loll finished the contest with a game-high 25 points. Lafe led Case in the first half with 15 of his team-high 20 points.

The Spartans pulled away in the second half behind the play of sophomore center Mason Conrad (Tarpon Springs, FL) and freshman guard Steve Young (St. Louis, MO) along with some poor shooting by Oberlin. Young scored 11 of his game total 14 points in the second half and Conrad 13 of his 17. Oberlin shot just 29.2 percent (7-24) in the last 20 minutes.
