ATLANTA, GA (February 26, 2005) - Case Western Reserve University freshman guard Jeremy Sallee (Hamilton, OH) led four Spartans in double digits with 18 points this afternoon as Case fell 102-75 at Emory University in Atlanta . Salle also had five assists and four steals.
It was the season finale for the Spartans, who finished the year 5-20 overall and 1-13 in the University Athletic Association. Emory improved to 15-10 and 6-8 in the UAA.
Both teams shot well from the field in the first half, Case 51.5 percent (17-33) and the Eagles 51.6 percent (16-31). Emory held the advantage on the boards, out rebounding the Spartans 21-12. Eagle senior forward Case Fawcett (Orlando, FL) scored 20 of his game high 35 points in the first 20 minutes as Emory led 43-40 at the half.
The Eagles out rebounded the Spartans 27-17 in the second half and 48-30 in the contest. The game remained close until the 13:23 mark when Emory took their 62-57 lead and went on to outscore Case 40-18 to snap a two game losing streak. Both teams turned the ball over in the game, the Spartans 13 times and the Eagles 12.
Case freshman center Mason Conrad (Tarpon Springs, FL) added 12 points and six rebounds.
