CLEVELAND, OH (February 13, 2005) - Case Western Reserve University freshman center Mason Conrad (Tarpon Springs, FL) scored a team high 15 points this afternoon in the Spartans 83-63 home loss to Washington University in the Veale Center. Conrad also grabbed seven rebounds.
Case drops their eighth straight and falls to 5-16 overall and 1-9 in the UAA. The Bears improve to 14-8 and 6-5. The Spartans travel to New York University this Friday for a 8:00 p.m. game.
Case shot just 25.7 percent (9-35) from the field in the first half and trailed Washington 45-30 at the break. The Bears shot 52.9 percent (18-34) and got 13 points out of Rob Keller in the first 20 minutes. Keller finished with a game high 17 points.
The Spartans struggled again from the field in the second half, hitting just 12 of 34 (35.3%) shots. Case also turned the ball over nine times in the last 20 minutes and 15 times in the game. Washington out rebounded the Spartans 51-49 and shot a school and UAA record 37 (10-37) three pointers in the contest.
Spartan freshman guard Jeremy Sallee (Hamilton, OH) added 13 points and five steals.
