BETHANY 91, CASE 82 ...
CLEVELAND, OH (November 20, 2004) - Bethany College topped the Case Western Reserve Spartans 91-82 this afternoon in the consolation game of the Penn State Behrend Tournament in Erie, PA.
Leading way for the Spartans was sophomore guard Matt Cannan (Dublin, OH) with 24 points and eight rebounds. Also helping out were Andrew Impastato (Freehold, NJ) with 15 points going four of six from three point range and Funso Lafe (Chesterland, OH) with 15 points and four rebounds.
Case trailed by only six at halftime with the score 50-44. In the first half Bethany shot a scorching 54 percent from the field, including seven of 14 from three point range. The Spartans were equally impressive from behind the arc in the first half hitting six of 12 three point attempts.
The second half shooting cooled down for Case while Bethany was able to increase their lead for a final score of 91-82.
The Spartans, now 0-2, will next travel to Berea, OH to take on Baldwin Wallace College in a Tuesday, November 23 game at 7:30 p.m.
