MEN'S BASKETBALL—2004

WALTHAM, MA - Case Western Reserve University (4-16, 2-7) sophomore forward Carson Oren (South Bend, IN) led three Spartans in double digits with a game high 24 points this afternoon as his team fell to Brandeis University (6-12, 3-6 UAA) 83-73 at Auerbach Arena in Waltham, Mass.

Oren scored 18 of his points in the first half, going seven of 10 from the field and two of two from behind the arc. Oren also grabbed nine of his game high 13 rebounds in the first twenty minutes. The Spartans as a team out rebounded the Judges 21 to 13 in the half and led 41-38 at the break.

Brandeis came out in the second half on fire outscoring Case nine to four in the first four minutes to take a 47-45 lead at the 16:48 mark. The lead would change a dozen more times and for the last time with 4:48 on the clock (66-65). The Judges, who shot 57.7 percent in the last 20 minutes, went on to outscore the Spartans 17-8 to win their third straight.

Bryan Lambert led Brandeis with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Spartans host Washington University (MO) this Friday at home (8:00 p.m.).
