ALLIANCE, OH – Case Western Reserve University (0-2) shot just 33.3% from the field in the consolation game of the Mount Union College Tip-Off Tournament today as they fell to Chowan College - NC (1-1) 63-89.
Case sophomore guard Funso Lafe (Chesterland, OH) scored a game high 16 points to lead the Spartans and sophomore guard Carson Oren (South Bend, IN) added 13 and a team high 7 rebounds.
Case made just 9 of 31 shots (29.0%) in the first 20 minutes and trailed 29-45. Chowan did the exact opposite in the second half hitting on 20 of 34 (58.8%) shots. They out rebounded the Spartans 27-7 in the last 20 minutes and 45-33 in the game.
Case will host Baldwin Wallace College this Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m.
