WOOSTER, OH (April 1, 2006) - The Case Western Reserve University women's track and field team won the College of Wooster Invitational today with 139.5 team points. Walsh University was runner-up with 136 points on the day.
Junior Emily Bruckner (Fairview, NC) had a successful day for the Spartans as she took second in the 100 meter dash (12.99), second in the long jump (15'-10"), and third in the 200 meter dash (27.03). Meanwhile, individual first place finishers for Case included Harmonie Foster - pictured (Bedford Hts., OH) in the 400 meter dash (1:03.21), Esther Erb (Richmond, VA) in the 5,000 meter run (17:45.55), and Alison Donnelly (Grand Island, NY) in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (12:26.71).
Spartan sophomore Sarah Gill (Sharpsville, PA) took second in the 800 meter run (2:33.36), Kristen Bowhers (Rochester, NY) was runner-up behind Erb in the 5,000 meter run (19:13.44), and Anna Taylor (Westerville, OH) also took second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (12:31.71).
In the relays, the team of Bruckner, Danielle Kendeigh (Oberlin, OH), Gill, and Foster took first place in the 4x400 meter relay in 4:17.08. Bruckner, Foster, Kendeigh, and Erica Coppola (Kinnelon, NJ) teamed up to finish second in the 4x100 meter relay in a time of 51.62, just .21 seconds behind the winning team from Walsh.
