2005 UNIVERSITY ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS ...
ST. LOUIS, MO (April 24, 2005) - The Case Western Reserve University track field team finished in sixth place with 54.50 points at the University Athletic Association Championships held on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis, MO. The host Washington Bears claimed the women's team title with a total of 252 points.
Winning the women's shot put and earning a First Team All-UAA honor was Case's Cassi Armstrong (Shaker Heights, OH). Armstrong, a senior, won the shot put event with a toss of 12.34 meters. Spartan senior Diana Kovacic (Rock Creek, OH) finished second in the women's hammer throw with 41.58 meters to earn All-UAA honors. Also claiming All-UAA honors for Case was Amy Staub (Oil City, PA) with a third place finish in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:22.79.
Case will resume competition next weekend when they take part in the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on April 30 beginning at 9:00 a.m.
