CASE 7, CALVIN 3...

CLEVELAND, OH (April 26, 2008) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 7-3 victory over Calvin College in game one of a doubleheader today in Kentwood, Mich.
The Spartans scored five runs with two outs in the top of the fifth inning and added two in the top of sixth. Junior Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) pitched a complete game for Case Western Reserve, allowing just three runs on three hits. Sagartz struck out six, but walked seven.
Freshman shortstop Beth Andrasik (Sagamore Hills, OH) and sophomore right fielder Adriane Lewandowski (North Royalton, OH) each went two-for-three to lead the Spartans' (13-28) offense. Andrasik also scored a run and knocked in two.
