WOOSTER 8, CASE 6...

CLEVELAND, OH (April 21, 2008) –Case Western Reserve University and the College of Wooster combined for 14 hits, but the Fighting Scots came out ahead on runs today in game two of a doubleheader in Wooster, Ohio. Wooster defeated the Spartans 8-6 to improve to 17-17 on the year.
The Spartans fell to 12-26 and will travel to Kenyon College Thursday for a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader.
Sophomore third baseman Chelsae Poelking (Brecksville, OH-pictured) had a big game for Case Western Reserve. Poelking went four-for-four with three runs scored and an RBI. She had three doubles. Freshman first baseman Anneliese Fetterman (Cupertino, CA) went two-for-three with three RBIs.
The Fighting Scots jumped out to a 5-2 lead after two, but the Spartans tied it at five apiece in the fourth. Wooster would score a three runs down the stretch to secure the home win.
Case Western Reserve used three pitchers in the game, with freshman Alexis Ferrera (Steubenville, OH) picking up the loss.
