WOOSTER 3, CASE 2...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 21, 2008) – The College of Wooster broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the bottom of the seventh to top Case Western Reserve University 3-2 in game one of a doubleheader in Wooster, Ohio.
The Spartans jumped out to a one-run lead in the third, but the Fighting Scots countered with a two-run fifth. Case Western Reserve then scored on a throwing error in the top of the seventh, but couldn’t hold Wooster in the bottom of the inning as it dropped its fifth straight.
Freshman first baseman Anneliese Fetterman (Cupertino, CA-pictured) went two-for-two with an RBI to lead the Spartans, who left seven runners base. Junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) picked-up the loss on the mound. Sagartz struck out four and gave up seven hits.
