WESTMINSTER 4, CASE 2...

CLEVELAND, OH (April 11, 2008) – Case Western Reserve University junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) struck out 10 Westminster College batters today in game one of a doubleheader, but the Spartans fell to the Titans 4-2 in New Wilmington, Pa.
Case Western Reserve (9-19) led 2-1 after a two-run fifth, but proceeding a 35-minute weather delay, Westminster (11-7) rallied to score three runs in the sixth and handed the Spartans their fourth straight loss.
Freshman shortstop Beth Andrasik (Sagamore Hills, OH-pictured) went three-for-three with a run scored and sophomore third baseman Katie Svilar (Orange Village, OH) went two-for-four in game one to lead the Case Western Reserve at the plate.
Sagartz allowed just five hits in six innings of work, but walked five and picked-up the loss. Two of her walks came in the sixth and the Spartans also committed two errors in that inning.
