ALLEGHENY 7, CASE 3...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 6, 2008) –Senior center fielder Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH-pictured) reached base all four times she came up to bat as the Case Western Reserve softball team was defeated by Allegheny College 7-3 in the second game of a doubleheader.
Spartan batters walked 11 times, but only got three hits against Allegheny pitching. Seeds led the team in walks with three, while also getting an RBI single in the fifth inning. Freshman shortstop Beth Andrasik (Sagamore Hills, OH) walked twice, including an RBI walk in the sixth. Stroking Case’s other two hits were freshman first baseman Anneliese Fetterman (Cupertino, CA), who went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, and junior second baseman Angel Rice (Brunswick, OH), who went 1-for-2 with a walk.
Freshman starting pitcher Teddi Jacobson (Solon, OH) took the loss (2-7), giving up six earned runs on ten hits and four walks, striking out two in six innings.
The Spartans (9-15) will next host Baldwin Wallace College next Sunday at 1:00.
