CASE 10, ALLEGHENY 2...

CLEVELAND, OH (April 3, 2008) – Freshman left fielder Teddi Jacobson (Solon, OH-pictured) went 3-for-4 with a double as the Case Western Reserve softball team defeated Allegheny College 10-2 in six innings in the first game of a doubleheader.
The game was tied 1-1 heading into the bottom of the third, but the Spartans scored twice in the third, once in the fourth, and three runs in the fifth and sixth. Four other hitters had two hits apiece for Case: freshman first baseman Anneliese Fetterman (Cupertino, CA) went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI, and two runs scored, senior center fielder Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored, sophomore third baseman Katie Svilar (Orange Village, OH) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and sophomore third baseman Chelsea Poelking (Brecksville, OH) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) pitched the complete game, giving up two earned runs on five hits and four walks, and striking out four.
