CLEVELAND, OH (March 30, 2008) – Ohio Wesleyan University sophomore pitcher Rachel Seibel threw a one-hit shutout today to lead the Bishops (5-11) over visiting Case Western University 8-0. The Spartans are scheduled to play a doubleheader at John Carroll University April 3 at 3:30 p.m.
Case Western Reserve (8-12) freshman pitcher Teddi Jacobson (Solon, OH-pictued) doubled for the Spartans lone hit of the day. Jacobson also picked-up the loss, allowing 10 hits while striking out four in 5.2 innings.
Leading 3-0 after five innings, Ohio Wesleyan scored five runs in the bottom of the six on three Case Western Reserve errors. Seibel also struck out 10 Spartan batters.
