ROCHESTER 4, CASE 3...

CLEVELAND, OH (March 14, 2008) – The University of Rochester’s Brittany Celeste hit a walk off homerun in the eighth inning to help the Yellowjackets top Case Western Reserve 4-3 at the University Athletic Association Softball Championship in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Case Western Reserve (6-8, 0-6 UAA) scored three runs in the top of the fifth to tie the game, highlighted by a homerun via freshman outfielder/pitcher Teddi Jacobson (Solon, OH-pictured). Jacobson finished two-for-three with a run scored and an RBI.
Junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) had five strikeouts and allowed just seven hits in six innings. Jacobson picked-up the loss, giving up a homerun to Rochester in the bottom of the eighth.
Case Western Reserve faces Washington University at 12:30 p.m. today and ends the tournament with Emory University tomorrow at 12:30 p.m.
