BRANDEIS 6, CASE 3...

CLEVELAND, OH (March 13, 2008) – Case Western Reserve University was held scoreless and to just two hits, as it dropped a University Athletic Association game 9-0 to Emory University at the 2008 UAA Softball Championship in Altamonte Springs, Fla. The Spartans move to 6-6 on the season and 0-4 in the UAA.
Emory used a five-run fifth inning to put Case Western Reserve away. Spartan junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) allowed nine hits and seven runs in four innings and was handed the loss.
Senior outfielder Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH-pictured) and freshman infielder Beth Andrasik (Sagamore Hills, OH) accounted for Case Western Reserve’s only two hits. Both went one-for-two from the plate.
The Spartans host Brandeis University in game two today.
