CLEVELAND, OH (March 11, 2008) – Washington University sophomore pitcher Megan Fieser held Case Western Reserve University to just one hit this afternoon as the Bears topped the Spartans 8-0 at the 2008 University Athletic Association Softball Championship in Altamonte Springs, Fla.
Case Western Reserve drops to 6-5 overall (0-3 UAA) and will face Emory University [at 10:00 a.m.] and Brandeis University [at 12:30 p.m.] tomorrow.
Spartan junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM-pictured) picked-up the loss. Sagartz gave up four runs on eight hits in 3.1 innings of work. Washington scored three runs in both the third and fifth innings and two in the fourth.
Case Western Reserve sophomore catcher Chelsae Poelking (Brecksville, OH) went one-for-two to lead the offense.
