CLEVELAND, OH (March 9, 2008) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team finished 4-0 in Chain of Lakes, Fla. as they swept Penn State Beaver 7-3 and 3-0 today, after winning two games against Northwestern College on Friday.
Junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) pitched a complete game for the Spartans in the opener. Sophomore Chelsae Poelking (Brecksville, OH) went one-for-two with two RBIs and freshman Teddi Jacobson (Solon, OH) went one-for-three with two RBIs.
In game two, freshman pitcher Alexis Ferrera (Steubenville, OH) pitched a four-hit shutout for Case Western Reserve. On offense, senior Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) went two-for-four and freshman Beth Andrasik (Sagamore Hills, OH-pictured) went three-for-four with two RBIs and a run scored.
