CENTRE COLLEGE TOURNAMENT...
CLEVELAND, OH (March 1, 2008) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team opened up its 2008 campaign with a day-one split at the Centre College Tournament in Danville, Kentucky. The Spartans fell 9-1 in game one to DePauw University and defeated Wilmington College 2-1 in game two.
Freshman pitcher Teddi Jacobson (Solon, OH-pictured) won her first collegiate game against Wilmington, striking out five batters in six innings and junior pitcher Ruthe Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) picked up the save. In game one, freshman Anneliese Fetterman (Cupertino, CA) led the Spartans with a two-for-two performance at the plate, including a run scored.
Case Western Reserve faces Maryville and Oberlin tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., before returning to Cleveland.
