CASE 3, BETHANY 2...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 22, 2007) – Seven different Case Western Reserve University softball players had a hit in game two of a doubleheader at Bethany College this afternoon. The Spartans beat Bethany 3-2 to improve to 16-12. They host the College of Wooster tomorrow in a doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Case was down 2-1 in the top of the seventh, but score two runs to win its fifth straight. Spartan sophomore infielder Angel Rice (Brunswick, OH-pictured) went 1-for-2 with a run scored to lead the offense. Case junior pitcher Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) picked up the victory, striking out five and allowing just four hits in seven innings of work.
