MOUNT UNION 1, CASE 0 ...
CLEVELAND, OH (March 29, 2007) –The Spartans played well but lost 1-0 against the number seven ranked Mount Union College Raiders. Junior Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH-pictured) went seven strong innings only allowing one run, and striking out two. The Spartans played strong defense behind her and made minimal mistakes.
With two outs in the ninth it looked like Case might have another late inning rally when freshman Chelsea Poelking (Brecksville, OH), and junior Jen Bullen (Willoughby, OH) hit back to back singles. Unfortunately, Mount Union 's Lindsey Royer retired the last Spartan for the complete game shutout.
