BLUFFTON 5, CASE 4...
CLEVELAND, OH (March 20, 2007) – Senior infielder Courtney Geib (Denver, CO-pictured) went two-for-three from the plate with one run scored and an RBI to lead Case Western Reserve University to a 5-4 win at Bluffton University in the second game of a double-header.
The Spartans (5-7) will next play Mount Union College in a pair of games on March 22 at Case.
After Bluffton went up a run, 4-3, in the top of the eighth, Case freshman Katie Svilar (Orange Village, OH) hit a two-run double to right field to end the game. Sophomore Ruth Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) pitched all eight innings. Sagartz struck out seven, walked three and gave up six hits to pick up the victory.
