EMORY 10, CASE 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (March 13, 2007) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team dropped its University Athletic Association (UAA) opener this afternoon, 10-1, to Emory University in Altamonte Springs, Fla. at the UAA Championship Tournament.
Junior Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) singled home freshman Jessica Moore (Brunswick, OH) in the fourth inning for the Spartans’ lone run. Senior Carrie Casden (Worthington, OH-pictured) finished with two hits as the Eagles jumped out to a six-run lead in the first inning.
The Spartans (2-1, 0-1 UAA) play two games tomorrow. They face Washington University at 10:00 a.m. and the University of Rochester at 12:30 p.m.
