CASE 9, OBERLIN 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (May 1, 2006) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team used a fourteen-hit attack to rout Oberlin College by a score of 9-1 in five innings in the first game of a doubleheader.
The hits came from everywhere, led by senior Kristin Courtney (Dayton, OH) - pictured, who went 3-for-3 with an RBI. Also, sophomore Jen Bullen (Willoughby, OH) went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, sophomore Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, junior Carrie Casden (Worthington, OH) went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a walk, freshman Angel Rice (Brunswick, OH) went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored, and senior Amber Hammell (Parkersburg, WV) went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and a run scored.
Sophomore Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) was the Case pitcher and went the five-inning complete game, giving up one earned run on four hits and one walk, striking out four.
