CLEVELAND, OH (April 29, 2006) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team made four errors leading to all five runs by Thomas More College in a 5-0 loss in the first game of a doubleheader.
Case batters collected five hits in the game, led by junior Carrie Casden (Worthington, OH) - pictured who went 2-for-3 with a double. Senior Kristin Courtney (Dayton, OH), freshman Lauren Smith (Delaware, OH) and freshman Catherine Dell (Grosse Ile, MI) got the other hits.
Sophomore Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) was the pitcher for the Spartans, pitching the complete game and giving up five unearned runs on seven hits and one walk, striking out four. All four of Case's errors in the game were made by freshman shortstop Angel Rice (Brunwick, OH).
