WOOSTER, OH (April 26, 2006) – Case Western Reserve freshman pitcher Ruth Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) - pictured threw a complete-game three-hit shutout, her fourth shutout of the season, and sophomore Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) hit two RBI doubles as the Case Western Reserve University softball team grabbed the second game of the doubleheader against the College of Wooster 6-0.
Case spread out their runs, getting two in the first inning, one in the second, two in the fourth, and one in the sixth. Bell ended up 2-for-3 with the two doubles, a walk, and two RBIs. Also, freshman Angel Rice (Brunswick, OH) went 2-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, two RBIs, and a run scored. Sophomore Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Sophomore Jen Bullen (Willoughby, OH) went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Sagartz pitched seven shutout innings, giving three hits and no walks, striking out seven.
Case, now 17-23-1 on the season, will host Thomas More College on Saturday at 1:00.
