CASE 5, BALDWIN WALLACE 3...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 20, 2006) – Case Western Reserve sophomore Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) - pictured hit a walk-off two-run dinger, her first collegiate game-winning homer, to lead the Case Western Reserve University softball team to a 5-3 victory over Baldwin-Wallace College in the first game of a doubleheader.
Bell also drove in a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly and finished the game 1-for-3 with three runs batted in. Junior Carrie Casden (Worthington, OH) drove in a run in the fifth with a single and went 2-for-4 on the game. Spartan freshman Angel Rice (Brunswick, OH) and senior Kristin Courtney (Dayton, OH) each had two hits apiece for Case.
Bell was the starting pitcher for the Spartans, pitching the seven-inning complete game and giving up three earned runs on seven hits and no walks, striking out two.
