NOTRE DAME 3, CASE 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 18, 2006) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team lost the first game of a doubleheader to Notre Dame College 3-1. Notre Dame scored two of their runs directly off of two Case errors.
The Spartans scored their only run in the seventh inning as an RBI double by sophomore Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) - pictured scored senior Kristin Courtney (Dayton, OH). Seeds went 2-for-3 with two doubles, while Courtney went 2-for-3 with two singles. They wasted scoring chances in the first, second, fourth, and sixth innings, leaving seven runners on base in the game, three of them at third base.
Sophomore Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) was the pitcher for Case, going seven innings and giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks, striking out none.
