CASE 7, ALBION 3...
ALBION , MI (April 9, 2006) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team completed a sweep of the doubleheader against Albion College 7-3.
The Spartans jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first and never relinquished it. After getting three more in the third, they took advantage of three Albion errors in the fifth to score three more and put the game out of reach. Junior Carrie Casden (Worthington, OH) - pictured went 3-for-3 with a walk, and RBI, and two runs scored. Sophomore Jen Bullen (Willoughby, OH) went 1-for-2 with two walks and a 2-RBI single in the third. Sophomore Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base, and two runs scored.
Freshman Ruth Sagartz (Albuquerque, NM) pitched the complete game and gave up three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks, striking out four.
The Spartans will travel to John Carroll tomorrow for a 3:30 doubleheader.
