CASE 3, ALBION 0...
ALBION, MI (April 9, 2006) – Sophomore pitcher Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) - pictured threw a complete-game one-hitter as the Case Western Reserve University softball team won the first game of a doubleheader against Albion College 3-0.
Bell only gave up the one hit, along with a walk and a hit by pitch, and struck out five in shutting out the Albion hitters.
The Spartans supported Bell’s great performance with some fine stick work. Junior Carrie Casden (Worthington, OH) went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in the sixth inning, her first collegiate home run. Sophomore Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) went 2-for-5 with a stolen base. Bell helped her own cause by going 2-for-3 with a walk.
