CASE 5, WESTMINSTER 1...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 2, 2006) – Sophomores Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) and Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) - pictured each homered as the Case Western Reserve University softball team won the first game of a doubleheader against Westminster College 5-1.
Bell had a three-run homer in the first inning, and finished the game 2-for-3. Seeds hit a two-run homer in the fifth, and finished the game 3-for-4 with a stolen base. Two other extra-base hits, both doubles, were hit by freshman Angel Rice (Brunswick, OH), who finished 1-for-3, and senior Amber Hammell (Parkersburg, WV), who finished 1-for-3.
Bell pitched the complete game, giving up only one earned run (on a homer in the seventh), five hits, and two walks, striking out three.
