KENYON, OH (March 26, 2006) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team won the second game of a doubleheader at Kenyon College 1-0 this afternoon.
Case scored the only run in the fourth inning. Sophomore Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) led off the inning by reaching on an error. After a sacrifice bunt, senior Kristin Courtney (Dayton, OH) hit a single, and junior Courtney Geib (Denver, CO) - pictured hit a sacrifice fly to drive in the run. Kristin went 2-for-3 on the day with a double and a stolen base. Senior Amber Hammell (Parkersburg, WV) went 2-3 with two doubles.
Bell was Case’s pitcher for the game and went seven innings, giving up giving five hits and no walks while striking out three.
Case (6-10-1) will next host Otterbein College on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
