CASE 7, WHEELOCK 4...
COCOA BEACH , FL (March 11, 2006) – The Case Western Reserve University softball team won their 2006 season opener against Wheelock College 7-4 in Florida.
Case junior shortstop Carrie Casden (Worthington, OH) - pictured went 2-4 with 2 RBIs and sophomore pitcher Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) went 2-3 with 4 RBIs, including a solo home run in the 2nd inning. The bulk of the Case scoring came in the third inning, during which ten batters came to the plate and mashed five hits to plate five runs, highlighted by a Bell three-run double.
Bell pitched the whole game and allowed the four runs, all unearned, on five hits while striking out four.
