DENISON 5 , CASE 3 & DENISON 3, CASE 0 ...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 17, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University freshman centerfielder Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH) went 3 for 5 from the plate with a run scored as the Spartans were swept in a home double header 5-3 and 3-0 by Denison University.
Denison won game one by scoring two runs in the top of the eighth and then only allowed four Case hits in game two. The Spartans fall to 6-28 on the season and are scheduled to host Lake Erie College on Monday (DH) at 3:00 p.m.
Case freshman pitcher Amanda Bell (Carroll, OH) picked up the loss in game one, throwing 8 innings, allowing 10 hits and five runs. Senior Jackie Rutherford (LaBelle, PA) lost game two, throwing 7 innings, allowing seven hits and three runs, while striking out 5.
