CASE 4, RIVER FALLS 3 ...
HOPE, MI (April 2, 2005) – Case Western Reserve University had four freshmen with two hits at the plate as the defeated Wisconsin-River Falls 4-3 at Hope College to snap and nine game losing streak. It was Case's second game against River Falls in as many days as they lost to them on Friday at Calvin 3-1.
Spartan senior pitcher Jackie Rutherford (LaBelle, PA) picked up the win, going 4.1 innings only allowing four hits. Freshman leftfielder Rachelle Gunselman (Wadsworth, OH), freshman centerfielder Lauren Seeds (Pickerington, OH), freshman catcher Elisha Bierman (LaGrange, OH) and freshman Adriane Lewandowski (North Royalton, OH) all had two hit days. Gunselman and Seed added a run batted in a piece.
Case improves to 4-14 on the year and Westminster April 5 th for a double header.
