HURRICANE INVITE...
CLEVELAND, OH (March 20, 2008) - Case Western Reserve University sophomore Obi Nwanna (Maumee, OH-pictured) and junior Matt Kamalsky (Shaker Heights, OH) separated from the men’s track and field team, who were at the Walt Disney World Invitational in Orland, Fla., to compete in the decathlon at the University Miami Hurricane Invitational today in Coral Gables, Fla.
Nwanna placed second overall [out of five] with 3,248 points in the five events. He won both the high- (6.18m)and long-jump (1.93 m), finished second in the shot put (12.00m), placed third in the 100-meter dash (11.83) and was fourth in the 400-meter run (55.19).
Kamalsky finished fifth with 2,454. He placed fifth in the 100-meter dash (12.28), 400-meter dash (56.44), long jump (5.61m), shot put (7.53m) and fourth in the high jump (1.61m).
