CLEVELAND, OH (May 11, 2007) - Case Western Reserve University graduate student Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA) and sophomore Elizabeth Ehrke (Pewaukee, WI-pictured) improved their chances of qualifying for the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships last night with NCAA provisional qualifying marks at the Allegheny College Gator Invitational.
Hrinda’s time of 14:37.36 in the men’s 5,000-meter run moved him into the top 15 in the country and Ehrke’s throw of 44.02 meters in the women’s discuss put her in the top 10. Case junior Esther Erb (Richmond, VA), who has secured a spot in the championships, also turned in a nice performance in the women’s 5,000-meter run (17:08.27).
The NCAA Championships will be held May 24-26 at University of Wisconsin (Oshkosh) in Oshkosh, Wis.
