CLEVELAND, OH (March 24, 2007) - Case Western Reserve University freshman Obinna Nwanna (Maumee, OH-pictured) placed first in the high jump (1.93 meters) and finished third in the triple jump (12.61m) to lead the Spartans to a third-place team finish at the Muskingum College Invitational.
Case tallied 64 points (tied with Muskingum) and Mount Union College won the invitational with a score of 224.
The Spartans also performed well in the distance events. Graduate student Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA) finished second in the 1,500-meter run in a time 4:02.87. Sophomores Ryan Gjoraas (Plymouth, MN) and Mike Petro (Cincinnati, OH) placed third (15:39.53) and fourth (15:44.18), respectively, in the 5,000-meter run.
Case travels to the College of Wooster Invitational March 31.
