2006 UAA CHAMPIONSHIPS - 4TH PLACE...
CLEVELAND, OH (April 23, 2006) - The Case Western Reserve University men’s track team finished fourth overall (out of 7) with 97 points at the 2006 University Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Cleveland. Washington University (MO) won the UAA title with 217 points.
Winning individual titles for Case were junior Alex Drollinger (Lodi, OH) - pictured and senior Stephan Hrinda (Fairview, PA). Hrinda completed the 10,000 meter run in a time of 31:35.41 and Drollinger recorded a distance of 50.04 meters in the hammer throw. Drollinger also placed fourth in the shot put (44'11") and the discus (136'04").
The Spartans also took the second through fourth spots in the high jump. Senior Funso Lafe (Chesterland, OH) was second clearing 5'10-1/2". Claiming the third and fourth spots in the high jump were Derrick Moore (Cleveland, OH) and Zachary Polk (Marion, OH) both clearing 5'10-1/2". In the shot put, sophomore David Jeffries (Nordonia, OH) took third place with a toss of 45'5-1/4".
The Spartans will travel to the Baldwin Wallace College Invitational this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
