2006 ALL-OHIO CHAMPIONSHIPS...
DELAWARE, OH (April 15, 2006) - The Case Western Reserve University men’s track and field team finished in tenth place out of 21 teams as the Spartans compiled 31 points at the All-Ohio Championships today. Mount Union took the team title with 177 points on the day.
Junior Alex Drollinger - pictured (Lodi, OH) led the way for the Spartans as he won the hammer throw with a toss of 162'-7". Drollinger also finished fifth in the discus (142'-11") and took eighth in both the shot put (45'5.25") and the javelin (152'-11") to record 16 points on the day.
Also finishing in the top five for the Spartans were Stephen Hrinda (Fairview, PA) and Jason Dudas (Solon, OH). Hrinda took second in the 5,000 meter run with a time of
15:02.63, just over three seconds behind the race winner, Michael Sawicki, from Otterbein College. Meanwhile, Dudas was fourth in the 3,000 meter steeplchase in
a time of 9:59.78.
The Spartans host the UAA Championships next weekend with the two-day meet kicking off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
